Per new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for review by the presidential administration.

Preferential Handling Claimed at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a source provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, stated in a official statement that the prison’s warden was assisting the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” remain unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, per the insider, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the warden has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for her and her guests.

The visits allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and chance of unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, Maxwell was provided directions about instructing her associates to call and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when the convict wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she “essentially used” the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that those writing to her would send files directly to the supervisor, who would provide them to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the official to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Other privileges reportedly provided to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning the convict is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that she told close associates in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her former location.

This past summer, she was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around Trump's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in that year while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether he had discussed a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to arrange her with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in detention, and whether she, her lawyers, relatives or agents have made any promises to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the inquiries by 24 November.
